Anise has always been a bar with a story. Once a spice warehouse, today it’s a speakeasy-inspired retreat in the heart of the City, brought back to life with a striking new design by Alessio Nardi of A-nrd Studio. Inside, terracotta tones, Indian craft details and elegant drapery pay tribute to our heritage while creating the perfect hideaway for modern London.

When designing the menu, we set ourselves a challenge of crafting a 50% spirited and 50% non-alcoholic offering that are united in depth, complexity and craft. Taking the form of a creative workshop devised by Chef Vivek Singh which brought together  the Cinnamon bar team led by Piyush Gouchwal, and Ryan Chetiyawardana (Mr Lyan) and the team at Mr Lyan Studio; we worked to blend together our distinct worlds: Our deep understanding of spice and flavour, and the mixologists’ mastery of balance and texture.
